The MHS student body represents a diverse mix of backgrounds as well as a broad geography. We are pleased to say that there is no typical MHS student because part of what makes us special is that we are a community of committed individuals. At MHS students are encouraged to think about who they are—as individuals—and who they want to become.
Approximately 80 percent of our student body is from Northeast Ohio. Many students come to MHS from the Greater Cleveland area, but a number of our students are from the surrounding area. We offer transportation services from Hudson and Akron to accommodate a growing number of families committed to MHS but challenged by a longer commute.
The balance of our student body comes from across the United States and around the world. MHS has welcomed international students from Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, and Spain.
Many of our students have had previous Montessori experience, but approximately 40 percent have not attend a Montessori school in the past. Those students are often looking for a school that allows for greater independence and ownership in their education.
MHS is open to all students who have a genuine desire to engage and connect in a committed learning community.
