Two Montessori High School at University Circle seniors are continuing to pursue their passion for dance after graduation. Samantha Friedmann and Imani O’Neal each auditioned for dance teams at the universities they are attending this fall, and were offered spots on the team.

Samantha, who attends the University of Mount Union, joined The Mount Union Dance Team, which performs routines at football games, basketball games, and other school events that typically include jazz, hip-hop, pom, and lyrical elements. The team has also performed at a number of special venues, including the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ pregame show. The team is currently working on becoming a college-level competition dance team.

Imani, who attends Cleveland State University, joined the CSU Viking Dance Team, which performs routines at the men’s and women’s basketball games that typically focus on jazz, hip-hop, and urban dance styles.

Both alumni studied Dance as a part of their International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
