The Process for International Students
Montessori High School at University Circle welcomes students from all over the world. For many international students interested in completing the Montessori continuum, MHS is one of the few secondary school options.
The admissions process is largely the same for international students as it is for domestic students. However, there are important differences.
In addition to the standard application requirements, international students must:
International Students must:
- Pay a $100 Application Fee using Flywire
- Submit a copy of their passport
- Submit TOEFL test results and transcripts
Student interviews can be conducted via video conference.
Additionally, international families must complete a financial data form known at the I-20. This process requires a color copy of the applicant’s current, valid passport.
Once the school has shared its decision regarding acceptance, MHS will generate the I-20 form. The family will receive the original form, and then must pay an I-90 fee online.
Families then make an appointment with their local United States consulate to apply for the applicant’s F-1 Student Visa. The family should bring both the I-20 form and the I-90 proof of payment to the consulate. Once the consulate has made its decision, the family sends a copy of the passport and the student visa to MHS with a travel plan itinerary. The travel plan should detail the student’s route from their home country to MHS.
